The God Father

In class I watched the movie The God Father.  This movie is about a Sicilian family in the 1950’s New York that is part of the mafia.  This movie shows in depth about how the family works and does their business.  The main character in this movie is Michael Corleone who is the youngest son of Don Corleone.  Over the course of the movie you learn that family comes before anything but family can also betray you.  The movie showed how the Don of the family could not refuse any offer on his daughters wedding day.  For this reason people would wait online to ask for favors from him.

After watching the movie I learned a couple of new things.  One of those things was that money is good to have but is not worth giving up certain things.  I learned that doing illegal business will wind up bad one way or the either for example when Sonny got killed.  From now I am going to look at life in a new perspective and realize money and illegal power is nothing.  The biggest thing I have realized is that people may seem to like you when you can benefit them but once that ends everyone forgets who you are.

Shindlers List

Over the weekend I saw a great movie named Shindlers List.  The movie was about a man named Oscar Shindler who was from the Czech Republic.  Oscar was a wealthybusiness man living in Germany during the course of the Second World War.  He wanted to take Jews and make them work for him by building items for the German army, and this would make him a killing and he would considered a war profiteer.  After Oscar was witnessing what the Germans where doing for to the Jewish people he decided to help. Over the course of the war Oscar saved 1200 Jewish people from death.  Oscar spent every dollar he had bribing Germans to let Jewish people live and by the end of the war he was poor.
This movie had brought tears to my eyes.  I learned that saving lives is the best joy and thrill a person can have.  Oscar showed me the no matter what the situation is you can always help someone any time.  I believe that this movie has shown me the right way to be to people and showed me money means nothing compared to human lives.

17 Again

Over The Weekend I saw a movie called 17 Again.  It was a great movie that was about a man who was very unhappy with his current life.  Mike the main character was 37 year old father with two kids and he felt miserable with himself.  Everything was going down hill for him.  Mike just been passed over for a big promotion at work, his marriage is failing, and his teenage kids cant stand him.  In the movie Mike had got the opportunity to go back to being 17 when he was a hotshot basketball player and do everything over.
17 Again taught that life throws you many curve balls but you need to choose the right path and be happy with it.  I believe this after watching the movie because Mike did not appreciate what he had but instead wanted what he didn’t have.  This truly shows me how in today’s society people are ungrateful for what they have.  I learned to appreciate the great things in life and not to look at things that I do not have.  17 again is a great movie that everyone should watch and cherish what it teaches you.

Speed Racer

Over the weekend I read a article about relationships on the internet. The article was very interesting to me because I am in a relationship myself for a long time. The article was a about a couples at a young age and how they deal with each other and through their relationships. The article brought up some very good points that I have experienced such as both people in the relationship should have equal responsibility in the relationship to make it balanced. Another interesting thing the article had said is that both partners in the relationship should be on the same maturity level because if they are not they will not be able to get along.

I believe this was a good article that I have read. I totally believe that in a relationship both partners should have equal responsibility because if not then one partner will always be very reliant on the other one. Another thing I believe in is that maturity is a key factor because if one partner is in mature then it will throw off the balance of the whole relationship and mess everything up. Overall I think this was a good article and I think that relationships are a lot of work and not just with one person but with both.

The Punisher

Over the weekend i saw the movie The Punisher.  The Punisher is about a man named Kevin Castle who was a regular father who was also a special agent.  One day him and his family where at the park and witnessed a mob murder.  Shortly after that the mob had found his family and killed his wife and daughter.  This made Kevin want to kill all the mobsters in New York.  Kevin did exactly that, he went after everyone and became a mafia serial killer.
I really liked and enjoyed watching this movie.  The movie has shown me how a regular man can be turned into evil over a tragic event.  I believe this is true because I've been in certain situations like this however they werent that serious that included murder.  I have learned that the most innocent people have a dark side if they are forced into a certain position of having to use it.  I believe that every person can become what Kevin become if they are pushed to the extreme brutalities of what life has to offer.

Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo is the woman of surrealism.  Frida was born in 1907.  She grew up in Mexico City and was a female painter of the early twentieth century.  Most of her paintings were self portraits.  They resembled her sexuality and a lot of her pain. Frida had a uni brow to represent the female image other than the object of male desire.  When Frida was 18 years old, she got into a very bad bus crash.  This bought a lot of pain into her life and therefore she was disabled and had an amputated leg.  However, this also bought Frida a lot of free time to paint.  This is when she was able to bring her art work into society and become famous.  Frida took her career to a further step and wanted to be well known.  She met with a famous painter, Diego Rivera, who she quickly fell in love with.  After a short period of time they got married however their marriage had its ups and downs.  Frida went on with drawing her famous portraits until she died in 1954.  I can say this movie has inspired me in many different ways.  This movie shows how one women suffered through her whole life with many different hardships and battles and was still able to be one of the most best female painters alive.  It amazed me how she was so open with her sexuality.  The famous painting that Frida painted was called The Broken Column.  This painting shows the suffering of her 30 surgeries from her bus crash and her amputated leg.  The column that is broken inside of her is showing how one strong women was able to be broken into pieces.  The column represents strength.  I was very glad to learn about her and her amazing artwork that has truly inspired me into being a strong person.

Never Back Down

Over the weekend I saw the movie called Never Back Down. This movie was about a teenager named Jake who recently moved to a new town in Tampa, Florida where the kids were harsh and brutal fighters. The character managed to get beat up and get hurt badly but decided to learn how to fight and learn it well. He worked day and night to become one of the towns best fighters with a lot skill and determination. While learning how to fight he also learned how to contain his anger and his self hatetred for the people that he wanted to hurt. This movie truly showed what hard work and effort could do. I learned that a person could do whatever they have to do know matter what the challange is as long as they work hard enough for it. The movie taught me that with strengh and discpline any goal no matter how hard it may seem to reach can be reached. Overall this was a great movie that truly defined determanation and self reliance with oneself. This movie has also inspired me to never give up and to keep fighting for what you want.
